What We Believe

Freethought holds that individuals should neither accept nor reject ideas proposed as true without recourse to knowledge and reason.  Thus, freethinkers strive to build their opinions on the basis of facts and logical principles.

Applied to relegion freethinkers have generally held that, given presently-known facts, established scientific theories, and logical principles, there is insufficient evidence to support the existence of supernatural phenomena.

Freethinkers tended to be liberal, supporting ideals such as racial, social, and sexual equality.
