Events will include:
Movies will be in Freethought Hall Saturday night
Midnight boat ride around the lake
Fishing
Swimming (weather permitting)
Free-Thought Library

Tori will be cooking up her famous taco soup (vegetarian and carnivorous) on Saturday night for everyone to enjoy.

There may be additional events added as we get closer to the event.

About the venue:
Lake Hypatia is the home of the Alabama Freethought Association (AFA)  They are an affiliate of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, and holds a national conference around the 4th of July every year.  The facility has 3 campgrounds, a conference hall, a fellowship hall, showers, bathrooms, a pavilion on the lake, and many other amenities.

It is located near Talledega, AL, about 1 hour drive time from Birmingham.

Camping:

Lake Hypatia has bathrooms, and showers available to all campers.

Please bring food for yourself.  There will be no catered meals other than Tori's taco soup on Saturday night.  As with all of our events feel free to bring your own beer or wine.

I personally have a lot of camping experience, and am willing to help anyone in need. I will be available all weekend to answer questions, setup tents, fix things, etc. For those of you who don't camp often I will be happy to e-mail you a camping checklist.

If you have any special needs contact me and we may be able to facilitate you.

Camping is not a requirement. You are welcome to come on Saturday, and leave at any time.  It will get very cold at night, so be sure to bring something warm.

Events:

Friday: Setup, Midnight boat ride

Saturday night when it gets dark we will be showing a movie.  It will be viewers choice from our personal library of freethought related movies.  We are always open to suggestions.

Whether you come for the weekend to enjoy the beauty of the Lake and surrounding area or you just come one night you are sure to have a great time.

This event is about meeting other Freethinkers and having a great time.  We hope to see people from all of the local groups.
